Willow - 2009, 14.2 hand Palomino Mustang/QH cross
Willow is a darling little mare, standing 14.2 hands, with correct conformation. Her mustang breeding has given her solid feet that have not needed shoes, and she has proven to be a great all-around horse, for Western, English, and trail riding. She was started last summer as a 3 year old by a teenage girl, and we have continued her training this winter and early spring. So far, we have had Willow out on a few trail rides and have been hauling her around to local arenas. She loads and hauls very nicely, and is good in new places. Willow has a nice jog that is extremely comfortable. She moves off of leg easily, and walks right out down the trail - she is a very nice combination of responsive yet not hot. Her most valuable trait is likely her ability to go out riding by herself, easily going right down ditch banks without even looking back to her pasture mates. She is extremely low in the pecking order and is not aggressive. Willow would be perfect for someone who spends a lot of time riding alone, and she would also be a great project for 4H, queening, and all-around use.
